The Ola Electric rights issue reaches its eligibility checkpoint on October 13, 2026. NSE and BSE both list that date as the record date and ex-date. The practical point for shareholders is that these are partly paid shares, not a free bonus allocation.
₹16.20 is the first payment, not the full price
Ola Electric’s October 7 board notice sets the full issue price at ₹27 per rights share, including ₹17 premium over ₹10 face value. The payment on application is ₹16.20, or 60%. Another ₹10.80, or 40%, is due in the first and final call.
The notice expects that call to be completed on or before October 31, 2027, but expressly allows the board to change its timing, subject to applicable requirements. That date is therefore not an irrevocable payment deadline. A reader comparing prices should compare the full ₹27 commitment, not treat ₹16.20 as the total purchase cost.

Three dates with different jobs
The record date identifies entitlement holders; it is not the application closing date. The offer is scheduled to open on October 22 and close on October 30. On-market renunciation of rights entitlements, or REs, ends earlier, on October 26. The board retains the right to extend the issue period within the limit stated in its notice.
Under the stated ratio, 25 fully paid shares correspond to two rights shares. CapKet’s arithmetic gives ₹32.40 on application for those two shares and ₹21.60 later, totalling ₹54. This illustration does not establish a particular investor’s allotment, fractional entitlement or eligibility.
Check the letter of offer, demat entitlement and broker instructions separately. An entitlement to apply is different from having completed an application. No subscription outcome or assured gain is reported.
