Effective date: 13 September 2026. This Privacy Policy describes personal information processed when you visit CapKet or contact the newsroom.

Information we currently process

  • Standard security and server logs, which may include IP address, browser type, requested URL, referring page and timestamp.
  • Information you voluntarily include in an email, correction request or news tip.
  • Essential WordPress authentication and security cookies for authorized administrators.
  • Your privacy choices, stored in the essential first-party cookie capket_consent_v1 for up to 180 days.

Why we use information

We use information to operate and secure the site, respond to messages, investigate abuse, maintain editorial records, comply with law and establish or defend legal claims. We do not currently sell personal information.

Reader Revenue Manager

Article pages use Google Reader Revenue Manager to identify open-access content and deliver reader-engagement prompts such as surveys. When the service loads, Google may receive device and network information, Google-account state, prompt interactions and information a reader voluntarily submits. Google acts under its own privacy policy. Survey responses will not be connected to advertising unless CapKet separately enables that feature and implements any legally required consent controls.

Audience analytics

With your permission, CapKet uses Google Analytics 4 measurement ID G-GDG4HBCZ10 to understand page visits and improve the publication. The Google tag is blocked until you enable “Audience analytics” in Privacy choices. Advertising storage and personalization remain denied unless separately selected. You can withdraw permission at any time through the footer control.

Advertising

No advertising is active on the coming-soon page. Before deploying Google AdSense or another advertising service, we will identify relevant providers, implement any additionally required certified consent platform and explain identifiers, measurement and personalization choices.

Browser push notifications

Browser push alerts are not currently active. If introduced, subscription will be voluntary and separate from cookie consent. We will request browser permission only after a reader deliberately asks to subscribe, identify the delivery provider here and provide a straightforward unsubscribe route.

Sharing

Information may be processed by hosting, email, security and professional service providers acting for legitimate operational purposes. It may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a legitimate business reorganization subject to appropriate safeguards.

Retention and security

We retain information only as long as reasonably needed for the stated purpose, security, editorial records and legal obligations. We use access controls, encryption in transit, backups and monitoring, but no internet service can promise absolute security.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection or withdrawal of consent. We may need to verify identity and may retain information when legally permitted or required.

International access and children

Internet services may involve processing in more than one country. CapKet is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly seek personal information from children.
