Reader trust requires a visible boundary between journalism and commercial activity. This policy applies to display advertising, sponsored projects, native advertising, affiliate links and other paid relationships.
Editorial independence
Advertisers and sponsors do not assign, approve or suppress independent editorial coverage. Payment does not guarantee coverage, favorable treatment, links or changes to an article.
Clear labels
Paid material will be prominently labelled “Advertisement”, “Sponsored”, “Paid Content” or an equally clear description before a reader engages with it. Sponsored material will identify the paying party. Advertising will be visually distinguishable from editorial content.
Prohibited and restricted advertising
CapKet will reject advertising that is unlawful, deceptive, discriminatory, malicious or designed to impersonate editorial content. Claims of guaranteed investment returns, unlicensed financial services, fraudulent trading schemes and misleading urgency are prohibited. Higher-risk financial, political, gambling, alcohol, health and cryptocurrency advertising requires enhanced review and may be refused.
AdSense and programmatic advertising
If Google AdSense or another programmatic platform is activated, CapKet will follow applicable publisher policies, maintain an accurate ads.txt file using its real publisher identifier, disclose relevant data use and deploy a suitable consent management platform where required. No placeholder publisher identifier will be published.
Privacy and targeting
Advertising partners must respect applicable privacy and consent requirements. Sensitive personal information must not be used for targeting. Readers will receive required notices and controls before personalized advertising is enabled.
Affiliate links
An article containing an affiliate relationship will disclose it near the relevant link. Affiliate compensation does not change our stated evaluation standards.
