These Editorial Standards apply to CapKet news, analysis, explainers, newsletters and visual journalism. They are intended to protect accuracy, independence and reader trust.
Coverage focus
CapKet covers capital markets, IPOs, corporate actions, commodities and digital assets. We do not publish political advocacy, election coverage or personality-led political stories. Financial regulation is covered through official documents and practical market implications.
Accuracy and verification
We verify material facts before publication and distinguish confirmed information from estimates, allegations and market commentary. New material claims must be checked against primary documents or first-hand evidence. If that evidence is unavailable, omit the claim or hold the story as a draft; do not turn an assumption into a headline. Market-sensitive information receives additional scrutiny.
Sources and attribution
Named, on-record sources are preferred. Anonymous sourcing may be used only when the information is important, the source has direct knowledge and disclosure could create a credible risk. We explain the source’s relevant position without revealing identity and seek independent corroboration where possible.
Primary documents and data
Company filings, exchange notices, regulator releases, court records, official statistics and source datasets should be linked when they are publicly available. Estimates, methodology changes, delayed prices and third-party calculations must be labelled.
Market-data verification
Identify the instrument, exchange or provider, delivery month where relevant, currency or index-point unit, observation time and time zone, and whether a figure is an open, intraday quote, close or settlement. A product-description page does not authenticate a dated quote. Do not report an unverified zero as a real price, and do not infer why a market moved without evidence. Clearly mark historical third-party observations that have not been reverified.
Distinct reporting and headlines
Each separate article must answer a distinct reader question with useful evidence. Headline variation, keyword repetition, article length and source-link counts do not substitute for reporting. Headlines must match the body and must not misrepresent an old story as new.
News, analysis and opinion
Straight news aims to present verified facts and relevant context without advocating an investment position. Analysis interprets evidence and is labelled. Opinion reflects the named author’s view and is separate from news reporting.
Conflicts and personal trading
Contributors must disclose financial, professional or personal interests that could reasonably affect their work. A contributor should not cover a security when an undisclosed position or relationship creates a material conflict. CapKet may impose additional pre-clearance and trading restrictions on staff before launch.
Embargoes, exclusives and gifts
Legitimate embargoes may be honoured when agreed in advance. Payment is not made for news. Gifts, travel or hospitality that could influence coverage are refused or disclosed where acceptance is unavoidable for reporting.
Artificial intelligence
Automation may assist with transcription, organization, translation or analysis. Automated checks are not independent human review; articles must disclose material AI assistance and must not claim a human reviewer who did not perform that work. Corrections and updates
Material errors are corrected promptly and transparently. Developing stories may be updated as verified information changes. See the Corrections Policy.
