Strong growth, but keep the margin comparison separate
Revenue measures sales from the company’s operations; PAT is the profit left after tax. They are not interchangeable. Netweb’s operating EBITDA is a separate company-defined measure: profit before tax, plus depreciation, amortization and finance costs, less other income. It should not be presented as reported net profit or as an independently standardized adjusted EPS figure.
The 14.9% operating EBITDA margin uses operating revenue as its denominator. The 10.2% PAT margin uses total income, which includes other income. The different bases matter when comparing ratios. The rounded year-earlier margins were 15.0% and 10.3%, respectively, so the sharp growth in rupee earnings should not be described as margin expansion.
The half-year milestone is not a quarterly comparison
For the six months ended 30 September 2026, PAT was about ₹222 crore, above the ₹205.8 crore reported for the entire FY26 financial year. That is a six-month-versus-twelve-month comparison, not the Q2 year-on-year growth calculation.
The release’s 59.9% AI revenue share also refers to the half year. The quarterly share is 58.4%. Keeping these periods separate avoids overstating AI’s contribution to the quarter.
What readers should watch next
An order book identifies business still to be executed; it is not cash received or revenue already booked. Conversion timing and future margins therefore remain important checks in later official disclosures. This report does not turn the order book into a revenue forecast or predict a share-price gain.
For another separate technology-sector results report, see CapKet’s Tech Mahindra Q2 earnings and corporate-action coverage. Its business and accounting figures should not be treated as directly comparable with Netweb’s hardware-related sales.
