Dominion Energy expects to finish 2026 in the top half of its operating-earnings guidance range after reporting higher third-quarter profit. The utility’s 30 October release put reported diluted EPS at $1.30, compared with $1.16 a year earlier.
Operating EPS was $1.28, up from $1.06. Dominion defines operating earnings as reported earnings adjusted for specified items; this is a non-GAAP net-earnings measure, not the line item called income from operations.

What the earnings measures include
The reported net-income total attributable to Dominion was $1.160 billion, rounded to $1.2 billion in the issuer’s summary. The prior-year amount was $1.006 billion. Those totals are attributable earnings, not revenue or the larger total including noncontrolling interests.
The adjustments between reported and operating earnings include nuclear-decommissioning trust gains and losses, economic-hedge mark-to-market movements, nonregulated asset impairments and other items. Readers should use the release’s reconciliation rather than assuming that operating EPS equals cash generated by operations.
The annual range remains forward-looking
The utility reaffirmed its existing operating-earnings guidance while expressing confidence in the top half of the $3.45–$3.69 per-share range. It also reaffirmed existing credit, dividend and long-term growth guidance; that is not a new completed dividend payment.
Dominion said it cannot provide a corresponding GAAP equivalent for its operating-earnings forecast because the aggregate impact of future adjustment items cannot currently be estimated. The non-GAAP forecast should therefore remain clearly labelled rather than being substituted for expected reported profit.
What to watch
Watch annual delivery and reconciliation of reported to operating earnings. The annual operating-EPS range is a forecast, with no corresponding GAAP range supplied in the release.
