Growth, profit and cash are separate measures
Operating income was $282 million, compared with adjusted operating income of $335 million. These are profit measures before financing and tax items, not the same as net cash generated by operations.
Operating cash flow was $303 million, up 12%, while the company’s free-cash-flow measure was $268 million, up 6%. Free cash flow is a supplementary non-GAAP measure and should be read with the issuer’s reconciliation rather than treated as another earnings total.
Annual guidance and the acquisition have different dates
The company now forecasts 2026 reported sales growth of 48%–49% and organic growth of 38%–39%. The reported EPS range is $4.54–$4.57, while the adjusted EPS range is $5.36–$5.39. These are future expectations, not completed full-year results.
nVent said the Maverick Power acquisition closed on 1 October, after the third quarter ended. It added a power-distribution platform to the company’s data-centre exposure. Readers should not retrospectively include the acquired business in Q3 merely because its closing was discussed in the same release.
What to watch
Watch performance against the raised annual forecasts and the effects of the Maverick Power acquisition after its 1 October closing. The acquisition was not completed during Q3.
