Growth rates and earnings labels need separate checks
The 10.3% reported revenue increase and 10.5% operational increase are different presentations of sales growth. Operational growth should not be described as the reported percentage or as a direct measure of units sold.
AbbVie reported immunology revenue of $9.165 billion, up 16.3% on a reported basis. The neuroscience portfolio contributed $3.389 billion, up 19.4% reported. These are parts of group revenue, not additional amounts to add to the $17.404 billion total.
What the higher annual forecast includes
The new 2026 adjusted diluted-EPS range is $13.95 to $13.99, replacing $13.76 to $13.96. It includes the unfavorable $0.69 per-share acquired-research and milestone expense impact incurred over the first nine months. The quarter’s $0.11 effect and the nine-month $0.69 effect cover different periods.
Acquired in-process research and development refers to research obtained through transactions before a finished product is available. The expense label is distinct from recognized sales. AbbVie’s adjusted EPS remains a supplementary non-GAAP measure; the annual range is management’s forecast, not an achieved result.
What to watch
Watch delivery against the adjusted annual forecast and the issuer’s reconciliations. Neither the forecast nor drug-program progress guarantees future revenue or investor returns.
