December E-mini S&P 500 futures had surrendered most of their early session rise in CME’s September 30 delayed quote. ESZ6 last traded at 7,733.50 points, just 1.50 points, or 0.02%, above its 7,732.00 prior settlement. This was a futures observation before the US regular cash session, not an S&P 500 opening price.

Flat on the day does not mean an unchanged session
The last quote stood 23.00 points below the session high and just 1.00 point above the low. Those distances are calculated from the same contract row, avoiding the misleading comparison of a futures price with a cash-index close. Volume is the exchange’s reported contract count, not turnover in shares or dollars.
The cash open remains ahead
NYSE’s core session begins at 09:30 Eastern Time, equivalent to 19:00 IST on this date. Futures can trade before that auction and need not predict the final opening level. The December price also reflects a different instrument and delivery horizon from the cash benchmark.
The Nasdaq-100 futures report shows a separate technology-heavy benchmark. Neither snapshot establishes a verified economic or company-news driver.
