Chennai Petroleum’s ₹25 interim dividend has a payment deadline, not a single guaranteed credit day. The company says eligible shareholders will be paid on or before 21 November 2026; their entitlement is assessed using the earlier 30 October record date.

CPCL declared the dividend at its 22 October board meeting, alongside its quarter and half-year financial filing. The distribution is for financial year 2026–27 and applies to equity shares with a ₹10 face value.

Three dates, three different steps

CPCL’s disclosed dividend sequence
Date What CPCL or NSE confirms Supporting record
22 October 2026 Board declared an interim cash dividend of ₹25 per ₹10-face-value equity share for FY2026–27 Board declaration
30 October 2026 Record date to identify shareholders entitled to the dividend Eligibility terms
30 October 2026 NSE ex-dividend date; separate from the payment deadline Corporate-action entry
On or before 21 November 2026 Payment to eligible shareholders; not evidence of a completed distribution Exact payment wording

What “on or before” changes

A payment earlier than 21 November would still fit the disclosed timetable. Reporting 21 November as the only day cash must arrive would therefore misstate the notice. Equally, reaching the record date does not show that the dividend has already been paid.

For an illustrative 100 eligible shares, 100 × ₹25 gives a gross amount of ₹2,500 before applicable deductions. This is a calculation using the declared rate, not confirmation of a payment to any particular account. Subsequent issuer or intermediary communication is the relevant check for actual receipt; no share-price gain is assumed from the declaration.
