Gold and silver moved higher in IBJA’s September 30, 2026 morning benchmarks, but the recovery did not erase their decline from the previous Friday’s PM levels. Gold 999 was ₹1,48,379 per 10 grams and silver 999 ₹2,22,273 per kilogram.
Against September 29 PM, those figures represent increases of ₹712, or 0.48%, for gold and ₹673, or 0.30%, for silver. CapKet calculated the changes from the dated IBJA rate sheet. The September 30 PM columns were empty when checked at approximately 14:56 IST.
The comparison window matters
| Benchmark | Sept 29 PM | Sept 30 AM | Calculated change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gold 999, ₹/10g | 1,47,667 | 1,48,379 | +712 (+0.48%) |
| Silver 999, ₹/kg | 2,21,600 | 2,22,273 | +673 (+0.30%) |
Compared with September 25 PM, gold was still ₹3,734 lower, a calculated 2.45% decline. Silver remained ₹10,077 lower, or 4.34%. That is a comparison across several sessions, not a daily or rolling 24-hour return.
What the recovery does not tell us
CapKet analysis: An increase from yesterday evening can coexist with a fall from Friday. The two observations are not contradictory; they answer different questions. Before interpreting a headline, identify its starting value, ending value and elapsed period. A positive morning change alone cannot establish that a wider downtrend has ended.
No cause for the move has been independently established in this report. We are not attributing it to currencies, interest rates, jewellery demand or investor flows without evidence linking those factors to this observation.
Benchmark, not a jewellery invoice
IBJA says its rates exclude GST and making charges. The figures are not quotes from a city jewellery shop or a futures contract. For a purchase, obtain an itemised quotation for the actual purity and weight. CapKet’s unit-and-bill comparison guide explains the distinction with a historical worked example.
The next comparable observation is the PM benchmark when published. Until then, the blank field is missing information—not a zero price. This article preserves the morning snapshot and does not overwrite earlier dated reports.
