Sodexo reported lower annual revenue and profit even as organic growth finished above its latest guidance. Its official fiscal 2026 results, released on 23 October, show revenue of €23.963 billion, down 0.5%, and group net profit of €304 million, down 56.3%.

The financial year ended on 31 August 2026. These are annual results, not a calendar-year third-quarter earnings report. The board proposed a €1.74-per-share ordinary dividend, which still needs shareholder approval.

Organic growth is not reported revenue growth

Sodexo fiscal 2026: different reporting bases
Measure FY2026 FY2025 Exact evidence
Reported revenue €23.963bn €24.074bn; FY2026 down 0.5% Official release
Organic revenue growth +2.0% +3.3% Official release
Operating profit / underlying operating profit €520m / €810m €985m / €1,139m Official release
Group net profit / underlying net profit €304m / €508m €695m / €785m Official release
Underlying operating margin 3.4% 4.7% Official release

Organic revenue grew 2.0%, while reported revenue fell. Sodexo attributes the difference principally to a negative 3.0% currency effect, partly offset by a positive 0.5% contribution from acquisitions and disposals. Organic growth adjusts for currency and changes in business scope; it is not an additional stream of sales.

Reported and underlying profit both declined

Underlying operating profit was €810 million, versus reported operating profit of €520 million. Net other operating expenses of €290 million explain that bridge: €810 million minus €290 million equals €520 million. Underlying figures do not remove the need to examine the reported result.

Group net profit and underlying net profit are also different measures. The €508 million underlying figure must not be added to the €304 million group result. The official release sets out the reporting bases and adjustments.

Dividend remains a proposal

Ex-dividend / payment dates 18 / 22 December 2026, subject to approval Official release

A proposed payment is not cash already distributed. The reviewed timetable does not give a separate record date, so this report does not invent one or infer eligibility from another market’s rules.

What to watch in fiscal 2027

Sodexo confirmed guidance for organic revenue growth of 2–3% and an underlying operating margin broadly in line with 3.4%. These are management expectations, not achieved results. Its official results overview provides the same release context. Investors can follow whether growth translates into stronger profit and cash generation, without assuming the guidance guarantees a recovery or a share-price gain.
