ServisFirst Bancshares reported third-quarter net income available to common stockholders of $87.3 million, compared with $65.6 million a year earlier. Diluted earnings per share increased to $0.80 from $0.60.

The October 19 release says all share and per-share figures reflect the company’s completed two-for-one stock split, with prior periods retrospectively adjusted. Comparing these numbers with an older, unadjusted EPS figure would give the wrong impression of earnings growth.

The accompanying Form 8-K, Item 2.02, identifies the October 19, 2026 earnings announcement and furnishes the release as Exhibit 99.1. The cover report and release belong to the same issuer announcement; they are not independent corroboration or a separate audited financial statement.

The per-share comparison needs a consistent basis

Measure Verified position Official source
Reporting period Quarter ended September 30, 2026 Issuer release
Net income available to common holders $87.3 million; $65.6 million in Q3 2025 Issuer release
Diluted EPS, split-adjusted $0.80; $0.60 in Q3 2025 Issuer release
Prior-year adjusted diluted EPS $0.65; non-GAAP Issuer release
Net interest income $159.8 million; $133.4 million a year earlier Issuer release
Net interest margin 3.63%; unchanged from Q2, versus 3.09% a year earlier Issuer release

The company’s reported diluted EPS increased about 33% year on year. It separately showed prior-year adjusted diluted EPS of $0.65, producing an adjusted comparison of about 23%. Both comparisons appear in the release, but they use different starting figures.

A stock split changes the number of shares and the per-share presentation; it does not itself create additional company earnings. The split here is a comparability note about an action already completed, not a new announcement that readers can still qualify for.

Interest income rises while sequential margin is flat

Net interest income increased to $159.8 million from $133.4 million a year earlier. Net interest margin was 3.63%, above the year-earlier 3.09% but unchanged from the second quarter.

These figures describe different things. Net interest income is a dollar amount after interest costs. Margin expresses that earning spread relative to the interest-producing asset base. A flat margin can therefore coexist with higher income as the volume or mix of assets changes.

Readers should watch whether loan growth, funding costs and credit performance continue to support earnings. Reported and adjusted results should remain separate, and the split-adjusted basis should be retained in future comparisons. The release is evidence of this quarter’s financial outcome, not proof of future growth or a guaranteed investment return.
