GSK reported early global data for its investigational cancer medicine risvutatug rezetecan, or Ris-Rez, on October 18, 2026. For investors, the development concerns its research pipeline—not a regulatory approval, product launch or verified future revenue.

Read the response numbers with their denominators

Measure Reported result Official source
8 mg/kg dose 11 of 18 response-evaluable patients responded: 61%; 95% confidence interval 35.7%–82.7%. GSK October 18 release
6 mg/kg dose 7 of 22 response-evaluable patients responded: 32%; 95% confidence interval 13.9%–54.9%. GSK results
Analysis and follow-up 50 patients in the dose-optimisation analysis; median follow-up 100.5 days. Study context
Treatment-related adverse events, grade 3 or higher 42% at 8 mg/kg and 15% at 6 mg/kg. Safety report
Interstitial lung disease One of 50 patients (2%); reported as grade 2. Safety report

The response denominators are not the same as the 50-patient analysis population. The trial concerns relapsed extensive-stage small cell lung cancer; enrolment was ongoing at the data cut-off.

What this does—and does not—measure

The sponsor-submitted ClinicalTrials.gov record for NCT06551142 describes a phase I, open-label study. Its response endpoint counts confirmed complete or partial tumour responses assessed against defined criteria. A response is not the same as a cure or a demonstrated survival benefit.

The intervals around the reported rates show substantial uncertainty in these small groups. This report does not claim statistically proven superiority between doses. The public registry record had no posted results dataset when checked; the new numerical findings above come from GSK’s announcement, not an independent reanalysis.

The business milestone is further development

GSK says these findings, alongside other data, informed the 8 mg/kg dose used in its ongoing global phase III study. That provides a development path to watch, not certainty about approval, demand, pricing or eventual sales. Longer follow-up is needed to assess how durable responses are.

Ris-Rez remains investigational. Safety events are material to interpreting the early findings, and the company describes continuing research rather than a new treatment approval. CapKet has not independently reviewed patient-level data. This is financial-business reporting, not medical advice or a recommendation to change treatment.
