CME’s market-regulation notice identifies October 19, 2026 as the listing trade date for four Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures contracts. The practical distinction is contract size: each Micro contract represents one-tenth of its corresponding standard contract.
Compare the contract units
| Contract | Code | Units per contract |
|---|---|---|
| BCH futures | BCA | 250 BCH |
| Micro BCH futures | MCH | 25 BCH |
| UNI futures | UNI | 10,000 UNI |
| Micro UNI futures | MUN | 1,000 UNI |

For example, 250 divided by 25 equals 10. Ten Micro BCH contracts therefore represent the same number of BCH units as one standard BCH contract. That arithmetic does not establish equal trading costs or liquidity. Contract units are not the cash margin needed to trade.
Smaller units do not remove margin risk
CME’s futures-margin guide explains that margin is money deposited and maintained with a broker, not a down payment that gives ownership of the underlying asset. Initial margin opens a position; maintenance margin is the minimum account amount required to retain it.
If account funds fall below that minimum, an investor may need to add money or reduce the position; liquidation can also occur. Requirements can change with market conditions, and brokers may require additional funds. None of those amounts has been verified for these BCH and UNI contracts. The table should therefore be read as a comparison of units, not a trading-budget calculator or a claim that a Micro contract is low-risk.
Listing rules are not a first-trade report
The October 14 exchange notice also points to position-limit and reporting requirements. Its referenced numerical appendix was not checked here.
CME’s product page still carries a regulatory-review caveat. This report does not confirm a first trade, market price, trading volume or margin amount. The original September announcement is a scheduled-launch statement, not proof of completed trading.
