GLOBAL MARKETS, 23 September 2026 — Bitcoin was quoted at $86,267 and Dogecoin at $0.100172 in a CoinGecko snapshot at approximately 03:19 IST. Bitcoin’s rolling 24-hour change was −0.44%, while Dogecoin’s was +0.94%.
The latest window differs from the earlier rally
CoinDesk’s earlier September 22 coverage described a roughly 15% Dogecoin rebound. That was an earlier observation, not the return in the newer data captured for this article. The two measurements must not be presented as if they were simultaneous.
| Asset | USD quote | Rolling 24-hour change | Reported 24-hour volume |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bitcoin | $86,267 | −0.44% | About $43.52 billion |
| Dogecoin | $0.100172 | +0.94% | About $2.39 billion |
CoinGecko’s individual update times were 21:49:00 UTC for Bitcoin and 21:49:10 UTC for Dogecoin on September 22, equivalent to 03:19:00 and 03:19:10 IST on September 23.
Why a rolling return changes
A rolling 24-hour percentage compares the latest quote with the level approximately one day earlier. As time moves forward, both the current observation and the starting point change. A smaller percentage does not, on its own, show how much of an earlier intraday rally has reversed; that requires a matched price series covering the rally’s actual start and end.
Volume is not net inflow
Reported trading volume counts transactions during the measurement window. Every completed trade has a buyer and a seller, and the same asset can trade repeatedly. The turnover figures therefore cannot be described as new investment entering either network.
How to compare the next update
Keep provider, quote currency and timing consistent. Crypto markets operate continuously, whereas a stock-index daily return normally uses a specified cash-session close. Mixing those clocks can make a comparison appear more dramatic than the evidence supports.
