Match purity, weight and observation

The India Bullion and Jewellers Association rates page lists different gold purities separately. All gold amounts in this table are rupees per 10 grams, not per gram.

October 15 PM Gold 999 1,45,942
October 14 PM Gold 999 1,46,064
October 15 AM Gold 999 1,45,564

October 15 PM Gold 916 1,33,683

Why the jewellery bill can differ

IBJA states that these rates exclude 3% GST and making charges. A seller’s complete jewellery bill is therefore not directly comparable with the bare benchmark amount. Check that the quoted purity and metal weight match before comparing prices, and ask for charges and taxes to be shown separately.

This is an IBJA bullion reference, not a verified city-by-city retail offer, an MCX futures settlement or an international spot-gold quote. A fall from the previous PM and a rise from the same day’s AM can both be true because they use different comparison points.

What was checked

The PM table and selected historical PM series were read together. No cause of the move, shop premium, future price or market-wide demand explanation was verified. The percentage change is CapKet’s arithmetic, rounded to two decimal places.
