Tesla’s Roadster page separates a two-seat Performance configuration from Thrust and Rocket upgrades. The crucial restriction is attached to Rocket: Tesla says it is invitation-only and not approved for use on public roads. Its availability also varies by region.

For readers following the product’s commercial prospects, a reservation option is not evidence of completed deliveries. The U.S. reservation screen shows $5,000 payable initially and $45,000 within 10 days. Those are reservation payments, not a verified retail price for the vehicle.

Roadster: configuration and payment checks
Item What Tesla currently lists Official source
Performance Two seats; offered by reservation; active aerodynamics and a multi-mode suction system Tesla Roadster product page
Thrust Two seats; limited release; rear cold-gas thrusters in addition to the suction system Tesla Roadster product page
Rocket One seat; invitation-only; not approved for public roads; not available in every region Tesla Roadster product page
U.S. reservation payments $5,000 initially + $45,000 within 10 days = $50,000; not the retail vehicle price Tesla U.S. reservation page
Payment condition Tesla says a reservation is not final until payment is received and can be cancelled if payment is not completed within 10 days Tesla U.S. reservation page

The upgrade caveat matters

Tesla’s footnote says the features and specifications on the product page reflect the optional Thrust upgrade. They should not automatically be read as the standard specification of every Roadster. Cold-gas thrusters expel stored gas to create thrust; their inclusion does not itself establish permission to use a vehicle on public roads.

The company also describes suction-based downforce and an under-one-second 0–60 mph capability for Thrust. These are Tesla’s performance claims, not results of independent tests checked by CapKet. The product page’s Rocket restriction should not be overlooked because of those claims.

What remains unverified

This report has not verified a final retail price, an India-specific offer, a delivery date or the start of volume production. The U.S. payment screen should not be converted into an Indian on-road price or treated as proof of an India launch. Nor do reservations establish recognized automotive revenue or future profit.

Before making a commitment, check the applicable local reservation agreement, the exact configuration, payment conditions and delivery terms. Product marketing, regulatory approval and a completed sale are separate questions.

For a separate measure of the existing business, read CapKet’s earlier report on Tesla’s Q3 deliveries and the October earnings timetable. That historical report is not a Roadster delivery update.
