KEC International announced ₹2,872 crore of turnkey transmission-and-distribution orders from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited on 24 October 2026. The company said the 765 kV lines are associated with the evacuation of 8.5 GW of renewable energy from Gujarat, making this a concrete infrastructure-order development rather than a share-price prediction.

Turnkey work brings the specified design, equipment supply and installation under a contract package. KEC said these awards include the largest-ever single order for its India transmission-and-distribution business. That is the company’s description of the order, not a claim about all Indian infrastructure contracts.
Why orders and sales are different
Order intake measures new work booked. Revenue is recognized as contractual work is performed under the applicable accounting policies, and profit depends on the costs and other terms. Adding ₹2,872 crore of orders therefore does not establish that the same amount has already appeared in quarterly revenue.
The 8.5 GW figure describes the renewable-power evacuation associated with the projects. It is not the installed capacity of a power plant owned by KEC, and it does not mean the new lines have already been commissioned.
What still needs a later disclosure
The release does not give a project-by-project completion schedule, estimated profit margin or guaranteed collection date. A stronger order book can be relevant to workload visibility, but execution, costs and timing remain separate questions.
This report does not infer a stock-price move or an investment return. The useful next evidence will be progress and completion records rather than reclassifying an announced contract as completed infrastructure.
