Ericsson’s third-quarter 2026 results show higher sales but lower net income than a year earlier. In its October 15 release, the company reported net sales of SEK 59.478 billion, up 6% from SEK 56.239 billion. Net income fell 49% to SEK 5.797 billion from SEK 11.300 billion. The previous year included a large disposal gain, making the comparison important to read beyond the headline.
Reported and adjusted figures are different measures
All amounts below are in billions of Swedish kronor (SEK), except diluted earnings per share (EPS), which is SEK per share. Changes are Ericsson’s year-on-year figures.
| Measure | Q3 2026 | Q3 2025 | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reported net sales | 59.478 | 56.239 | +6% |
| Net income | 5.797 | 11.300 | −49% |
| Reported EBITA | 9.228 | 15.516 | −41% |
| Adjusted EBITA | 10.121 | 15.819 | −36% |
| Diluted EPS, SEK per share | 1.770 | 3.330 | −47% |
EBITA is earnings before interest, tax and amortisation. It is not net income. Ericsson’s adjusted measures exclude restructuring charges; readers should not assume that they remove every unusual item.
Why the prior-year gain matters
The company says Q3 2025 adjusted EBITA included a SEK 7.6 billion capital gain from a disposal. It states that adjusted EBITA increased when that prior-year gain is excluded. That narrower comparison does not mean reported net income increased, and CapKet has not calculated a replacement net-profit figure. The prior-year diluted EPS also included a SEK 1.72 per-share divestment gain.
Organic sales growth was 7%, rather than the reported 6%. Organic growth adjusts for currency movements, acquisitions and divestments. These are different bases, not conflicting estimates of the same calculation.
How to read the result
Sales growth alone does not describe profit performance. Keep the reported and adjusted columns separate, and compare like-for-like periods. No share-price reaction, market driver or earnings forecast is established here.
